The scouting book for boys
David and Emily, both 14, live almost as brother and sister (they’re not) on a Caravan Park on the coast of Norfolk. They fill their days walking down water slides and jumping between Caravan roofs. Then Emily goes missing, and slowly David’s life begins to transform in ways he’d never imagined.

The title is a little misleading. To be honest I am not really sure Baden Powell would have signed off on this title. Yea the book does appear and there is a very sound bit of advice for keeping your core body temperature warm but that is about as far as the link to scouting goes. They do not even help and old lady cross the road!
Instead you are presented with trailer park trash kids. That is a bit harsh but these are the off spring of people who work on holiday camp resorts. When you go to these places you think that they are just other holiday makers, but they live in a cocoon of not having many friends on the outside. Not have the parents around much as they work a lot of ours as live in staff, so friendships begin and they are in a bubble they can not easily escape from, even if they wanted to.
What transcribes on screen is some of the best young talent that Briton has. You may remember Thomas Turgoose in This is England, well he is seriously on his way to big things. To be able to pull of his second real staring role is not an easy feet. He is becoming the next Jamie Bell but with more talent for acting.
