The International

In The International, Interpol Agent Louis Salinger (Clive Owen) and Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Whitman (Naomi Watts) are determined to bring to justice one of the world’s most powerful banks. Uncovering myriad and reprehensible illegal activities, Salinger and Whitman follow the money from Berlin to Milan to New York to Istanbul.

Finding themselves in a high-stakes chase across the globe, their relentless tenacity puts their own lives at risk as their targets will stop at nothing - even murder - to continue financing terror and war.

Unfortunately The International was a bit of a let down.  I was led to believe by the trailer that it was going to be a fast and stylish conspiracy thriller with Clive Owen playing a Jason Bourne type character.

With really only one main action sequence, the film slowly chugs along from city to city and although it looks good it doesn’t do enough to keep you hooked.

Overall it’s a so so entry to the conspiracy thriller genre which could do with a kick up the arse at the moment, just looks like we can’t rely on Clive Owen to sort this out for us.
