Pride and Glory
A gritty and emotional portrait of the New York City Police Department, the film follows a multi-generational police family whose moral code is tested when possible corruption splits the family. Ray Tierney (Edward Norton), one of two sons on the force, is asked by his father and Police Chief Francis (Jon Voight) to investigate an incendiary case involving his older brother (Noah Emmerich) and brother-in-law (Colin Farrell).
On the surface it looks like a routine drug-bust gone terribly wrong, but as Ray digs deeper he starts to uncover details which will force the family to choose between their loyalties to one another and their loyalties to the department.
A very expensive film to make, only problem they paid for the actors and not the script. Possible a great film but slightly too long and it really has too much going on. Cut out half the scenes as some are just completely too long and completely pointless.
I get annoyed with films where the languages vary, for example this film will switch from English to Spanish, with no subtitles. It may not be important to the story, but if it has to be in the film then credit us with what is being said.
All in all not a very good film, as with riding a bike and walking balance is the key to success - this is the same as making a film. To say I was disappointed would be an under-statement but for such a strong cast some one really should have made an effort to check the quality.
