KiDULTHOOD

A gritty look at modern English youth, this film looks at 2 days of an inner London school group with tragic outcomes. It crosses the world of drug taking, teenage pregnancy, and petty crime. For 15 year old Trife, a boy from west London, life is a day to day struggle. Trapped between the worlds of his school friends, the girl he loves and the draw of his powerful and dangerous uncle, Trife must choose between the path he knows is right and a life of guns, drugs and violence he has come to know all too well…

Each character has an ability for you to relate to with your own school experience.  Being introduced to the girl that gets harshly bullied by the gang of girls is eye opening, with physical violence being used when you don’t expect it. Then there is the so called hard lad that will need a pose behind him to speak up opens the doors to feelings for each person on screen.

With subplots and story lines intermingling for one day in this social caldron, you never know when the next punch will be thrown or worse.

Driven by a hard soundtrack featuring the likes of The Mitchell Brothers and The Streets  and the great young British talent of Jaime Winstone and Noel Clarke this film is a must see.
