Get Rich or Die Tryin’

Marcus is a quiet young man who adores his loving mother. But after she is brutally murdered in an apparent drug deal gone wrong, Marcus heads down the wrong road himself. He abandons high school to sell drugs for local kingpin Levar and his underling, Majestic . Years later, when he reunites with his childhood sweetheart and is thrown in jail, Marcus decides to leave drug selling behind in order to fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming a rapper. Unfortunately, Majestic doesn’t want to let him go, resulting in a tragedy that might destroy his life forever…

If the stories are to be believed every rapper comes from a troubled back ground. But for Marcus it is a life of drugs from an early age, and a realisation he has what it takes to become a rapper.

With GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN’, rapper Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson follows in the footsteps of his musical counterpart, Eminem (8 MILE), by giving movie stardom a shot. Directed by Jim Sheridan (IN AMERICA, MY LEFT FOOT) and written by Terence Winter, the film tells a fictionalised version of 50 Cent’s own troubled life story.

This film does what 8 Mile in my opinion failed to do, it sucked balls.  With a slow story evolving from the murder of his mother and him seeking revenge for 15 years to the utter tripe that everyone who hears one of his tunes will follow him like rats to the pied piper, it all just is unbelievable.

Even MTV being a producer let their normal standards slip with an unmemorable sound track, all in all this is bad, want to see a journey of a rapper watch B rabbit.
