Donkey Punch
After meeting at a nightclub in a Mediterranean resort, seven young adults decide to continue partying aboard a luxury yacht in the middle of the ocean. But when one of them dies in a freak accident, the others argue about what to do, leading to a ruthless fight for survival.
When people think of British films they often think of classic comedies and boring period dramas. Everything else is just never quite do right, and lacks something. When this movie is seen by an American with a director connection I think they will remake it to what it deserves.
Wooden acting and an obvious low budget really let the consumer down in this shock horror film full of gore and fake blood. With no real back story on who anyone is which really doesn’t help, the opening credits are people going to a club and five minutes later there is an after party on a boat. From here the crew of the boat take it for a few days joy ride.
So what is missing, really it needs a creepy older crew member, maybe a little 10 minutes of back story, do we really need to have everyone dropping an E? What ever happens the plot is missing something which would make you want to recommend this to anyone.
I am not sure if I am setting my standards too high for this as it is a British film with what I thought would be upcoming talent that we could be proud of in Jamie Winstone, who stole the show in kidulthood, but this film is not worth the disk it is printed on.
