AdULTHOOD
We all inevitably grow up, but in the case of Sam Peel (Noel Clarke), the transition from KIDULTHOOD to ADULTHOOD is particularly difficult. Having been released from prison for causing the death of Trife six years previously, Sam struggles to come to terms with life on the outside.
Confronted by those that he hurt before his incarceration, Sam begins to realise how his actions have affected others while trying to figure out which of his victims is looking to get even with him as he is stalked by a pack of young thugs. Sam attempts to tell this new breed of troublemakers that they should stop the violence, as Trife had tried to tell him years ago. But will the cycle of violence continue?
6 years is a long time. In the last 6 years for example I have graduated from college, moved continents, had 3 promotions, been made redundant, got new nieces and nephews and a hell of a lot more. For the students who had a real crappy day in south London, it seems hardly anything ever changes.
Six years after the gritty drama of Kidulthood, the characters have slowly gotten over the night their best friend got brutally murdered, and now the killer is out.
Scores have to be settled but for some life has improved, bright futures lie ahead with the magic of education. But for some life spiralled and a lot of blame was placed at being at a party where nothing could be done to stop a mate being killed.
As a whole this is a rather lame follow up. Jamie Winstone who outshone in the first is missing from AdULTHOOD with her absence explained with a throwaway line resembling the reason given in Oceans 13 why Julia Roberts was not there. The use of flashbacks tells many stories but leaves you wondering what actually happened.
If you enjoyed the first it really does make sense to watch this movie, but a poor effort has been put in. The sound track underlines the pure lack of respect put towards this film and most the actors may have made their last films.
