24 - Redemption

On they day of the Presidential Inauguration, Jack Bauer finds himself in the midst of a bloody uprising in the small African nation of Sangala. He must risk his life to transport a group or orphans to the American Embassy and sacrifice his own freedom to ensure that they are evacuated out of the country and make it safely to America. The following was typed in real time. Jack was certainly back and he was his old stone cold self. 24 Redemption sees Jack Bauer on the run from the US government on torture charges and hiding out at his friend’s American school in Africa.

This being 24 however, it was not going to be a quiet day. The small African country has an evil neighbour who is recruiting young boys at gun point for their army.  The American school is of course full of them, and an attack is imminent. There is one problem with that plan, there is an ex-special forces, ex-CTU Agent, one man killing machine in their way.

All of this with a subplot of a new President being sworn in and her son’s best friend is killed by some bad guys when he was trying to blow the whistle on some dodgy dealings.

In the usual way, this film like the TV show leaves you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. The 7th season of the show will follow on from this film which will most likely be filled with unbelievable sub plots and twists but as a standalone film this is enjoyable and for new 24 viewers could be a route in to one of the most popular shows on the planet.
